Fall Bucket List

My family does not celebrate Halloween. We don’t get dressed up or go house to house to trick or treat. Maybe your saying,- Sue you guys are missing out on a lot of fun, and candy! Yes, I’m sure my sons will think that as well but we just try to avoid this holiday because we think there are other fun activities we can do rather than conform to a holiday with witches and ghosts and not so heavenly things. And as a disclaimer if my sons choose to celebrate it when they grow older or when they have a family, I leave it up to them to make that decision. But in the meanwhile, what can I do with my family during the months of September, October, and November?
There are so many fall festivals, street fairs, and other children’s events that take place in the north east every year. We are also close enough to many farms, pumpkin patches, and apple orchards to take a day trip to. Autumn is the time to see God’s color spectrum at work, so we make sure to take a foliage drive in northern New Jersey/ New York! Also, Pinterest seems to be the website to go to for inspirations on baking, decorating, and crafting! I am not the typical DIY kind of mom, but I would love to try some of fall crafts with my sons this year!
So here is our family fall bucket list for 2016 to compensate for not “enjoying” Halloween. I hope you and your family can do as many things as possible on this list. Check out your local newspaper or magazine for events in your city or state to attend. And of course for creative ideas go on Pinterest! Follow me there on my Fall and harvest ideas to see the inspirations I’m browsing through!

Great ideas! We also don’t celebrate Halloween, but there are plenty of fall-themed things to do. We just made pumpkin pancakes this last weekend!
