This week I am teaming up with DaySpring and bringing you the #encouragementdare. I want you to be an encouragement the week of September 10, and uplift your friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
A little bit about the NATIONAL DAY OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
National Day of Encouragement was passed by the US senate in 2007 to be observed annually on September 12. This day is dedicated to making a positive impact in our community and uplifting people around us.

I’ll never forget my random act of kindness towards a few college students in my 4th year of pharmacy school. It was finals week, and I was given some money from my Christian Fellowship to buy every 4th person on line a cup of coffee. We encouraged the students and wished them good luck on their finals. Although it was not my own money, I felt so great seeing the joy of these students getting something for free. I also realized it was more of an encouragement to me to be an encourager!
The Bible reminds us to encourage, build up, comfort, bear each others burdens, keep unity, love our neighbors, and be hospitable to strangers!
Here are some of my favorite verses that show you just that!
1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
1 Peter 3:8-9 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Hebrews 10: 24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Ephesians 4:1-3 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Hebrews 1:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
